A legacy worth carrying forward

Built on one founder’s vision, sustained by many hands.

Cedar Cove grew from William “Billy” Pottorff’s vision for a place where people could learn through care, story, and direct experience. The organization’s progress has always depended on volunteers, supporters, and community members who believed the work was worth continuing.

That legacy still shapes the site today: thoughtful tours, volunteer-led hospitality, and a mission centered on conservation through education.
